Restaurant & dining

Can I dine at the Schmokenberg restaurant without staying overnight?

Absolutely. Our Schmokenberg restaurant isn't just for hotel guests — you're very welcome even without an overnight stay, whether for a long breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee or dinner. You'll dine in the light-filled winter garden or out on the terrace overlooking the Havel meadows. We recommend calling ahead to reserve a table.

Learn more about our kitchen and the current menu on the Dining page.

What kind of cuisine does the Schmokenberg serve?

The Schmokenberg is regionally rooted and globally inspired — a young, seasonal kitchen whose menu is rewritten again and again. You'll dine in the light-filled winter garden or on the terrace overlooking the Havel meadows.

Do I need to reserve a table at the Schmokenberg?

We recommend reserving a table, especially on weekends and for larger groups. To reserve, call us at +49 39387 595151.

Are there vegetarian and vegan dishes?

Yes. Alongside fish and meat dishes, our menu always includes vegetarian and vegan options. Since we rewrite the menu with the seasons, the selection changes regularly. If you have any allergies or special requests, just let us know — we'll find something that works beautifully.

See the current selection on our menu.

Wellness, bikes & boats

Is there a wellness and sauna area — and is it free for hotel guests?

Yes. ArtHotel Kiebitzberg has an intimate sauna area with two saunas: a gentle bio sauna (up to 60 °C / 140 °F) and a classic Finnish sauna (up to 100 °C / 212 °F). For hotel guests, it's free of charge.

Can I rent bikes or e-bikes?

Yes. We rent bikes year-round and offer an e-bike charging station and a lockable bike garage. The hotel sits right on the Elbe and Havel cycle routes; you'll find cycling and hiking maps with route ideas at reception, and you can add a picnic basket.

Can I rent a boat without a licence?

Yes. ArtHotel Kiebitzberg rents two solar boats in Havelberg — both whisper-quiet and no licence required. The solar catamaran "ELSA 2" seats up to 12, is covered, wheelchair accessible (with assistance), and comes with tables, chairs and a toilet. The sleek, 5.6 m (18 ft) "RAYA" solar boat seats up to 8 and is partly covered; its solar roof keeps recharging the battery as you go, so you can stay out on the Havel all day.

You'll find all the details, prices and booking on the Boat charter page.
